John 9:1-12

Who does Jesus see when he is coming away from the temple?  How do his disciples understand this disability?  What does Jesus say about the works of God?  Who will do them?  What does he do to the blind man?  What does he tell him to do?  What does John tell us that 'Siloam' means?  How do the man's neighbours react to this development?  What does he say to them?  What do they want to know?  How does he answer?  What does he say about Jesus?  Then what is the question?

9:13-23

What happens to the blind man now?  What do the Pharisees ask him?  Why do they get angry?  Are they all in agreement?  What do they ask the blind man?  What does he say about Jesus now?  Who do the Jews interrogate next?  What are they driving at in their question?  How do his parents answer?  Why are they afraid of the Jews?  How do they react to being in this situation?

9:24-34

When they summon the man again, what's the first thing they say?  What do they say about Jesus?  How does he respond?  Now what do they ask?  Why does he think they want to hear the story again?  Who are they disciples of?  What do they say about Jesus?  What does the man say about sinners and worshippers?  Now what does he say about Jesus?  How do the Jews react to this?

9:35-41

When Jesus finds the man, what does he ask?  When the man asks who the Son of Man is, how does Jesus reply?  Does this sound familiar?  How does the man react?  Why does Jesus say he came into the world?  Why do the Pharisees take offense?  What has been the theme of this chapter?

John 8.1-11

Now where does Jesus go?  What happens the next day?  Who do the scribes and Pharisees bring to him?  What do they ask him?  What do they want him to say or do?  Interesting -- who's missing from this picture?  What does Jesus do?  What does he say?  Who is left to condemn the woman?   What does Jesus tell her to do?  What does she call him?

8.12-20

What does Jesus say he is now?  How do the Pharisees find fault with this?  Why does Jesus say his testimony is true nevertheless?  Who else bears witness to him?  How?

8.21-30

Where does Jesus say he is going?  How do the Jews understand this?  What will happen to them unless they believe in Jesus?  What do they ask him?  How does he answer?  They don't understand -- but when will they?

8.31-38

Who is he speaking to now?  What does he say?  Why does this ruffle their feathers?  How does Jesus say they/we are slaves?  Do you think this is true?  How does he compare what he says with what they do?

8.39-47

Who do the Jews claim is their ancestor?  How does Jesus say they have forfeited that claim?  He says they have another father.  How do they react to that?  Now who do they say is their father?  Who does Jesus say is their father?  What two things does he say about the devil?  Why do they not hear the word of God?

8.48-53

Now what do the Jews say about Jesus?  What does he say will happen to anyone who keeps his word?  How do the Jews find fault?  (Can you feel their blood pressure rising?)

8.54-56

Did Jesus answer their question?  What does he say about Abraham?

8.57-59

How do the Jews respond to this latest claim?  What does Jesus say in response?  What do they do?  Why does Jesus get away?
